Yes the Cont has been closed for 18 months and could have been alot longer than that if Frank didn't give us the chance to turn it around. As Jesse said the place was not generating a profit. Jesse and I both watched the crowds steadly get smaller and smaller there were some nights that we didn't get 70 people through the door. If the building at 212 Franklin every opens again as a bar business I don't think you will see the Cont as you remember it. It simple  didn't support itself. As you put it, a competant business man purchased the property I think its a safe bet you wouldn't  recognize the place.   Enough about this subject! Come down to Diablo's on Fridays to hear the music you've heard for years at the Cont.      Report
